Kedarnath is approximately 1437 km from Mumbai. Although the distance is high, you will find many means of transport from Mumbai to Kedarnath.
1. Mumbai to Kedarnath by train
The nearest railway station from Kedarnath is the Rishikesh railway station. There are no direct trains from Mumbai to Rishikesh. Instead, you can board the train from Bandra Junction, 13.4km from Mumbai.

If you want to board the train from Mumbai, you must opt for Haridwar station instead. Haridwar is 20km from Rishikesh. Many popular trains from Mumbai like Dehradun Express, Haridwar express, and LTT HW AC SUP.
From Haridwar, you can book any auto, cab, jeep, or even helicopter to reach Kedarnath. These train journeys will take you around 1 day to get approximately.
2. Mumbai to Kedarnath by flight
You will not find any direct flights from Mumbai to Kedarnath. The nearest airport from Kedarnath is Jolly Grant airport.
The most popular flight option is Mumbai to Delhi airport. It will take around 2 hours to Delhi from Mumbai by flight. From Delhi, you can book any cab/taxi to Kedarnath. This method of traveling will be the cheapest for you. But, it will also be hectic.
Instead, you can break your journey by staying in Delhi and boarding Delhi to Rishikesh trains later.
You can also opt for Mumbai to Jolly grant international airport. This is less popular because the number of flights available is more minor. It will also cost you greater. From Dehradun, you should stay a night and book a cab/taxi/bus from Dehradun to Kedarnath.
This will make your journey less hectic. You can also opt for AC Volvo buses from many depots in Dehradun. Helicopters are the costliest but best option if you want the most comfortable journey.
3. Mumbai to Kedarnath by road
The approximate distance between Mumbai and Kedarnath by road is 1912km. This journey will be a long journey for you. So, you must make sure you have good stamina and are experienced in long rides.
If you opt for the long drive from Mumbai to Kedarnath, you should reach Sonprayag first. Kedarnath is only 20km from Sonprayag. You will find many hotels and restaurants en route to Sonprayag. Sonprayag is the last city where Hotels and restaurants are available in abundance.
After Sonprayag, Gaurikund is the last place that is motorized. So, it would be best if you stayed one or two nights in Sonprayag or Gaurikund before departing for Kedarnath.
If you can bear a little longer journey, it would be best to go to Kedarnath via Delhi and Dehradun. You will find many service centers for your vehicle in any case of emergencies and checkups. After Gaurikund, your responsibility and skill are to drive through the hilly and some unfinished roads.
Although you may find the journeys mentioned above tiring, it would be worthwhile for you if you lived in Mumbai to visit Kedarnath. The climate of Kedarnath is quite different, unlike the coastal climate of Mumbai. So, make sure to carry sufficient winter clothing for your journey or trip.
